The bodybuilding world is fascinated by witnessing online fitness enthusiasts’ training regimes and diet norms. The online gym community is growing steadily as the world realizes the need for healthy habits. Eustacio Batista Dias was a Brazilian bodybuilder who enjoyed 11,000 followers on Instagram. The 27-year-old used to share his training rituals with his fans, but a mistake on Tuesday cost him his life.

Two gunmen shot and killed the Brazilian bodybuilder while he was training at the gym. If reports were to be believed, the accused got to know about the champion’s location after he shared it on Instagram.

Eustacio Batista Dias shot dead at the gym

Dias was training at the gym and shared his location on his Instagram profile, and a few minutes later, a couple of men gunned him down at the gym. The footage of the gym’s CCTV camera captured the upsetting visuals where the bodybuilder was shot by these two men, whose identities are yet to be known by the police. He was killed after being cornered at the back of the gym, and his assassins appeared to fire several shots into his head and body from close range.

A bullet hit another man who was present near him, but it is reported that he is not in a critical condition as he tried to get out of the way. The exact reason behind this incident is still unknown, but the investigation is going on.

Reporting about the same, ‘Generation Iron’ posted a photo alongside a caption that read, “Dias shared his location at the gym to social media and reports believe that the men used this information to find him.“

Dias won the Men’s Physique Junior Championship in 2018 and the state championship in Espiritu Santo in 2019. But on Tuesday, the young man died under unusual circumstances. The gruesome act enraged social media users as they commented on the news shared by Generation Iron’s Instagram account.

Not worth the risk,” wrote a fan upset about the atrocity of the act. “Petty jealous and cowardly to take someone….” lamented another.

Were they scared to fight him one on one,” questioned another, who felt the gunmen killed the bodybuilder out of envy. “Social media kills!” declared another in disbelief. “Wtf did he do? No one deserves this,” cried a bodybuilding enthusiast taken aback by the horrific act.

It is indeed a distressing year for the bodybuilding community, as many young bodybuilders died in 2023 for various reasons. Another bodybuilder passing away early is breaking the hearts of fans.
