Jurassic Park star Sam Neill sold his four-bedroom home in Double Bay.

The Pearce Street property was believed to be sold for more than $3.6million through a virtual auction service called Openn Negotiation, a first for Sydney's Eastern suburbs. 

The 72-year-old's stunning double-fronted Federation home features an open space living and dining area that leads out onto an outdoor terrace, and is just a short stroll to Double Bay Beach.

Ballard Property Double Bay revealed there were six bidders hoping to snap up the two-storey property, but it was eventually taken by an Australian currently living in Hong Kong.

The New Zealand-raised actor bought the property in 1996 for $839,000 with his former wife Noriko Watanabe.  

He now splits his time between his New Zealand vineyard, Canberra and Sydney with his journalist partner Laura Tingle, 59.
