The Argentinian clubs were first not allowed to be public limited companies. However, recently the country has brought a new law that allows them to become public limited. Hence, many businessmen including Todd Boehly have shown interest in making investments. Now, it is in the hands of the Chelsea owner whether he wants to go forward with the interest. Boca Juniors is not the only club the American has shown interest in the last few weeks. Several reports have also linked him with a takeover of Portuguese giants Sporting CP.
This indicates that the 50-year-old is planning a huge multi-club project for the present and future. As far as Chelsea is concerned, spending could take place again in the January transfer window.
