Olympic track and field athlete Sydney McLaughlin and her long-term boyfriend, former NFL star Andre Levrone Jr., got hitched on 6th May, after getting engaged a full nine months before in August 2021. The wedding was held in Madison, Virginia, at the Early Mountain Vineyards. Finally, a couple of days later, the track star shared pictures of the auspicious day on Instagram.

She captioned the post “Mr. & Mrs. Levrone ❤️‍🔥 PT. 1 05.06.2022”, so here’s hoping there will be a PT. 2 and we’ll get to see more of the beautiful couple.

The McLaughlin-Levrone Wedding

Sydney McLaughlin is the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist and holder of the current world record of 51.46 seconds in the women’s 400-meter hurdles. Her now-husband is a former NFL player, retired, and currently working as a Project Engineer at the Whiting-Turner Company. Andre Levrone Jr. proposed to the rising sprinter at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, last August and made headlines. A major reason was because McLaughlin had just come from her record-breaking victory in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

They both have been open about their relationship and what makes them perfect for each other. McLaughlin wrote a beautiful message to her then-fiance Andre on their engagement post. “Andre, you are the most God-fearing, passionate, honest, loving, hard working, protective, and genuine man I’ve ever met. I see Jesus in you. And as a result it makes you so easy to love,” she said.

What’s next for the power couple?

The couple shared their journey in a recent interview and said that they are waiting for the track season to end before they head off on their honeymoon. Together since 2020, the newly married couple is excited about what life holds for them in the future.

McLaughlin told People, “We’re still figuring out where we want to go and what we want to do, but we’re definitely not taking that off of the calendar at all.” She added, “Ultimately, just getting to wake up next to your best friend and tackle whatever challenges the day has is so exciting.”

Levrone Jr. also chipped in with a few words about how he envisions their life together. He said, “In this season of life, me primarily supporting her and her dream and her calling, is fun for me. And just knowing how supportive she is of me as well and in the long term.”

We hope the happy couple has a long, prosperous journey ahead of them. The fans eagerly await McLaughlin’s performance in the rest of this track season, and what the future holds for the rising athlete.
